Habibullah Esmaeeli, one of the compilers of the 1st collection of
“Jews and Armenians in Majlis docs (2nd- 5th rounds)” said that the
work is a part of the social history of contemporary Iran.
IBNA: The book was the collection’s first volume he told IBNA adding
that it may continue till the 4th book. The compilation started with
Late Monir Qaderi’s cooperation who was the field’s researcher. She
was a scholar of history, culture as well as Persian language and
literature who has cooperated for the collection.

Since the work was based on the documents and sources of Majlis
library, museum and docs center he added:” While the documents recount
the process or details of a trade, estate or financial transactions,
they are about the group’s relationship with the majority of Iran’s
Muslims.”

He added” The collection is an evidence of the religious group’s
peaceful coexistences who indeed solved their problems wisely.”

Since the collection is a selection made from some 2000 documents he
added:” Cooperating with late Monir Qaderi the documents were read and
edited over 4 times. Few critical political documents existed as well
which are significant since they were presented to the Majlis.”

He went on to say that the book reveals the Iranian society’s point of
view about the Majlis and says that how the Majlis changed to into a
legislative institute. In fact the collection shows that how the
Iranian society gradually got familiar with Majlis functions.

The first print of Jews and Armenians in Majlis docs (2nd- 5th
rounds)” has been recently released in 1000 copies and 476 pages.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
