US embassy comments on America Foreign Policy Council official’s
visit to Karabakh.

The US Embassy has expressed its attitude towards the visit to the
occupied territories of Azerbaijan of senior fellow at American
Foreign Policy Council for European and Eurasian Affairs Wayne Mery.

“This visit will not change Washington’s policy in regard to
Nagorno-Karabakh”, said spokesman for the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan
Keith Bean.

Wayne Mery who illegally visited the occupied territories of Azerbaijan
on 14 November met with representatives of the separatist regime
of Nagorno-Karabakh.

“The United States, like any other country in the world, including
Armenia, does not recognize the so-called Nagorno-Karabakh Republic”,
he stressed.

At the same time, Bean said that US citizens can freely exercise
their right to travel without seeking the permission of the government.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
