GERMAN MP DEMANDS THAT AZERBAIJANI MEDIA REFUTE FALSE STATEMENTS ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

German MP Steffen-Claudio Lemme refuses to have made comments on the
Armenian Genocide which the Azeri media attributed to him, Nouvelles
d`Armenie informs.

Bundestag deputy and member of Germany’s Social Democratic Party
Steffen-Claudio Lemme disproved the statements to have called the
Armenian Genocide “false” which the Azeri agency Trend attributes
to him.

“I did not declare the genocide to be false. I think that the Armenian
Genocide committed by the Ottoman Empire is a historical fact. The
evidence is clear. Turkey as the Ottoman Empire’s successor state
must take responsibility if the negotiations with the EU lead
to a successful conclusion,” Steffen-Claudio Lemme said. “As a
syndicalist and social-democrat, I cannot allow the publication of
such untrue articles. It is unbearable for me to be concerned with
such publications. Those responsible for the article broke all the
journalistic standards. I again call the authors of that article to
publish a denial immediately.”
