Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Igor Petrushenko,
the Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs who arrived in
Armenia to take part in the political consultations held between the
Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.

Welcoming Igor Petrushenko, Minister Nalbandian underlined with
satisfaction that the traditionally warm Armenian-Belarusian relations
have continuously been developing in all spheres of cooperation.

“It’s noteworthy that the document signed about two months ago has
already been implemented and it is a proof of the genuine effectiveness
of our cooperation,” said Edward Nalbandian.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Igor Petrushenko conveyed
to Minister Nalbandian the greetings and wishes of the Minister of
Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Martynov.

In the course of the meeting, the sides mutually stressed that the
high-level political dialogue, reciprocal visits, economic interaction,
parliamentary ties, decentralized cooperation and cultural exchanges
give an opportunity for the further deepening of the friendship
between the two nations.

Stressing the existence of an expanded legal framework, the sides
simultaneously noted about the necessity of its further expansion.

Edward Nalbandian and Igor Petrushenko touched upon the steps being
taken towards the further intensification of bilateral trade and
economic interaction.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
