TURKEY AND AZERBAIJAN SPECULATE ON EFFECT OF TURKISH EARTHQUAKES ON ARMENIAN NPP

YEREVAN. – Turkey and Azerbaijan speculate on the influence of the
Turkish earthquake to Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), Armenian
Minister of Energy Armen Movsisyan said at the Parliament on Tuesday.

The Minister said that NPP is constructed with the seismic resistance
of at least 9 points, while the power at the scene was 3 points.

Turkey registered earthquake in the east with the magnitude of 7.2
or 9-10 points on October 23. Armenia had 3-5 points. Besides, IAEA
experts ensured that exploitation of the station is safe.
