Some of President Serzh Sargsyan’s formulations regarding the
Armenian-Turkish relations and the process of recognition of the
Armenian Genocide were very interesting, analyst Karen Bekaryan told
a press conference today, commenting on President’s speech at the UN
General Assembly session.

The closed Armenian-Turkish border is a demonstration of hostility,
Karen Bekaryan said, adding that it’s Turkey’s turn to take a step.

The expert does not rule out that France may intensify its role in the
process of settlement of the Karabakh issue ahead of the parliamentary
and presidential elections in Russia.

“However, I believe, Russia won’t fully abandon its mediatory role
in Karabakh settlement,” the expert noted.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
