The property of the Armenian Apostolic Church and its status in
Georgia is a complicated issue. Tbilisi’s refusal to recognize AAC
Georgian Eparchy’s legal status is another problem, according to Giga
Zedania, director of Genealogy and Modernity Institute at Tbilisi’s
Ilia Chavchavadze State University.

As he noted, Georgia’s political authorities won’t have enough
strength to act against Georgian Orthodox Church where the property
of the Armenian Apostolic Church is concerned.

“There are influential institutions in Georgia opposed to the
settlement of the issue for the benefit of AAC, and no one is prepared
to contradict them,” the political expert noted.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
