ARMENIA’S INDUSTRIAL OUTPUT INCREASES BY 5.9% IN 2011 MARCH TO 76.9 BILLION DRAMS

YEREVAN

Armenia’s industrial output increased by 5.9% in 2011 March from a
year earlier to 76.9 billion Drams (in current prices), the National
Statistical Service said, adding that the output in March was 12.7%
higher than in February.

Mining sector output was said to have grown by 2.3% year-on-year
to 13.3 billion Drams, the processing industry posted a 3.8%
growth which in terms of money amounted to 48.1 billion Drams,
production and distribution of electrical power, natural gas, steam
and purified air was said to have risen by 23.4% to 14 billion Drams,
water distribution, waste water removal and waster recycling dropped
by 7% to 1.5 billion Drams. ($1 – 370.27 Drams).
