37 kilograms of “hard” drugs confiscated in 2010

Armenia’s police said at its board meeting that it had registered 811
drug-related crimes, in comparison with 539 cases for the same period
in 2009.

It was reported that country’s police succeed in identifying the
illegal trafficking in narcotic drugs: there were registered 809
cases, marking a 51,2% increase in comparison with the same period of
2009. Drag trafficking and trade was marked by a double-digit increase
(228 cases for six months of 2009 against 423 cases for six months of
2010).

Police officers confiscated 44 kg 646 grams of drugs, including 37
kilograms of `hard’ drugs like opium, heroin, and methamphetamine.
