Grand Master Sergey Movsesian has won 1,5:0,5 over Germany’s Arkady
Naydich in round one of the World Rapid Chess Championship taking
place in Odessa. Unfortunately, in the quarter-final the Armenian
chess player lost 0,5:1,5 to Aleksandr Grishuk.

The 4th ACP World Rapid Cup is being held in Odessa, Ukraine, from May
27 to 29. It’s a 16-player knockout tournament with 16 participants
meeting in two-game matches and four-game final round. The prize fund
is $70,000 (by $13,000 more than last year’s found).
