Only at first glance it may seem that that the intention of the US
Congress to discuss the Armenian Genocide Resolution (H.Res. 252)
on March 4 is a deadline for Turkey to ratify the Armenian-Turkish
protocols, Head of the Heritage faction Styopa Safaryan told a press
conference today. The MP is confident that the United States will
not adopt the bill this year.
"This deadline, which the Armenian side connects great hopes with, is
not a deadline, in reality, and Turkey has time to overcome it. The
international community and the United States cannot give up the
Armenian-Turkish relations and refuse from their strategic objectives.
Therefore, it’s logical to expect that this will lead to the increase
of discontent in Armenia."
