POWER PRODUCTION LAST YEAR DROPS BY 7.2% TO 5.671.2 BILLION KWH

YEREVAN, February 2, /ARKA/. Armenian nuclear power plant produced
last year 2.5 billion KWh of electrical power, by 1.3% less than in
the preceding year, the National Statistical Service reported.
The amount of electrical power produced by thermal power plants
contracted by 38.4% to 1.128 billion KWh, while the volume of
electrical power produced by hydropower plants rose by 12.4% to 2.044
billion KWh.
The nuclear power plant accounted last year for 44% of all generated
power, thermal power plants accounted for 19.9% and hydropower
plants for 36.1%. A windmill in northern Armenia doubled its capacity
producing 4.3 million KWh.
In general, power production last year dropped by 7.2% from the
preceding year to 5.671.2 billion KWh. ($1 – 376.03 Drams)
