NSSP: NO STRONG QUAKES EXPECTED IN ARMENIA IN THE NEAR FUTURE

A 2.9 magnitude earthquake was registered 16 to the northeast of Garni
village in Armenia on January 17, at 5:05 p.m. The intensity of the
quake reached 4 at the epicenter, the Armenian National Survey for
Seismic Protection (NSSP) informed.
According to the NSSP report, the quakes were felt in Yerevan and
Abovyan.
No strong quakes are expected in Armenia in the near future, NSSP
says. The high temperature has nothing to do with the seismic
situation.
