/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Memorial of the first USSR champion in table tennis
Harutyun Hakobyan ended in Yerevan. The tournament was attended by 67
tennis players from Yerevan, regions of Armenia, as well as Georgia
and Lebanon.

According to Christina Manasiryan, Table Tennis Federation’s umpire,
following players won the championship:

Women:
1st place – Tamara Agayan
2nd place – Hasmik Khachatryan
3rd place – Rusanna Vartanyan

Pairs:
1st place – Tatev Engibaryan and Hasmik Matevosyan
2nd place – Mariana Sahakyan and Louise Nazaryan
3rd place – Hasmik Khachatryan and Rusanna Parsadanyan

Men:
1st place – Murad Asatryan
2nd place – Alexander Diaryan
3rd place – Mesrop Ghoukasyan.

Sargsyan visited the Expert center for pharmacology and medicine,
where he was briefed on center activities.

Following Premier’s visit, a meeting was held, with expert center
issues presented.

Tigran Sargsyan emphasized the importance of the center’s operations
and stressed the need for re-equipment and employees’ advanced
training courses.

The meeting also focused on increase in medications’ price and
importers’ number. "Significant number of medication importers and
major incomes suggest RA government should address the issue," the
Premier concluded.

NATIONAL GALLERY HOSTS EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO PAINTER STEPAN TARYAN’S 110TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ On November 25, Armenian National Gallery opened
an exhibition dedicated to painter Stepan Taryan’s 110th birth
anniversary. The third exhibition following Taryan’s death, it
displayed 110 works by the artist.

"Beginning 1926, the artist organized over 20 exhibitions, with 2 being
his personal. His paintings were displayed in several towns of USSR and
in different international cultural centers," artist’s son Suren Taryan
said, adding that his family plans to open Stepan Taryan’s home-museum
in Yerevan and has already applied to RA Ministry of Culture.

Painter, sculptor and art critic Stepan Taryan was born on August 17,
1899 in Tbilisi. He graduated from Russian Art Academy of Petrograd,
receiving the qualification of sculptor.

laws on changes and additions to tax legislation, including laws on
VAT, excise and income taxes, presidential press service reported.

Besides, Serzh Sargsyan signed a law on changes and additions to RA
legislation on administrative violations and 2006-2007 state property
privatization report.

Elimination of Violence Against Women, Yerevan State Puppet Theatre
after Hovhannes Toumanyan is hosting premier performance of "Bruises
to the Soul".

Actors in the play are students from Yerevan State Theatrical
Institute and members of Women’s Rights Center (WRC) NGO. According
to WRC President Susanna Vardanyan, organization is planning to
organize performances in Armenian regions. Before the play, WRC
representatives will introduce their organization’s activities in
Armenian and English languages.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated.

According to him, Russia is keeping on top of Eastern partnership
program development, which had just started to gain impetus. "We do
not preclude participation in a mutually beneficial project," Sergei

adequate responses to Azeri President’s military statements but also
take concrete steps in that direction, European Integration NGO Chair
Karen Bekaryan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

"When I heard Azeri President Ilham Aliyev’s statement prior to Munich
meeting, I was under the impression there’d be no meeting at all.

Aliyev’s statement perplexed not only the Armenian side but also
Minks Group Co-Chairs," the expert said.

Estimating bellicose statements as "Baku’s style", Bekaryan stressed
the importance of Yerevan’s forcing Azerbaijan to demonstrate respect
for Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.

According to him, Armenia can talk international community into
setting deadlines to Azerbaijan’s military statements.

"Ilham Aliyev may force Armenia to recognize Nagorno Karabakh’s
independence and not only," the expert said.
