TURKISH-ARMENIAN BORDER WILL BE OPENED AFTER OCCUPIED AZERI LAND FREED – TURKEY

The issue of opening the Turkish- Armenian border will remain closed
until Armenia withdraws from occupied Azeri territory, Turkish
Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic said.

"Turkey has openly informed the world on what condition the border
could be opened. This condition is the liberation of Azerbaijan’s
occupied territory," the Turkish ambassador told the press on Tuesday.

"Turkey has made the necessary steps, reaching the middle of the way.

Now it’s Armenia’s turn to take its steps," Kilic said in comments
on ratification by the Turkish parliament of the protocols on the
establishment of diplomatic relations between Ankara and Yerevan,
signed in Zurich on October 10.

KHOSROV RESERVE DIRECTOR KILLED

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Director of Armenia’s Khosrov reserve, 51-year-old
Samvel Shaboyan was assassinated on the night of November 19 .

Police said Shoboyan’s Toyota Prado was shelled by unknown. Law
enforcers counted 30 bullet holes in the car. Shoboyan, who was
sitting on the backseat, died from numerous bullet wounds.

A criminal case was initiated.

Earlier, Shaboyan told journalists about the threats from local
poachers.

NAGORNO-KARABAKH MUST BE RESOLVED IN OLD FORMAT: RUSSIAN FM

Conflicts addressed by the OSCE should be resolved in the previously
agreed upon format, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in
response to a question posed by Trend News during a news conference
in Moscow today.

"These conflicts, such as Nagorno-Karabakh, Transdniester and Kosovo
should be resolved in the previously adopted format," he said.

"Kazakhstan as the organization’s chairman will take a responsible
approach to this problem."

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988
when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian
armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992,
including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts.

Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The
co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group – Russia, France, and the U.S. –
are currently holding the peace negotiations.

INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO INCREASE PRESSURE ON ARMENIA

coming several months, said Kiro Manoyan, ARFD Hay Dat and Political
Affairs Office Director.

At that he noted that the international community will build up
pressure on Armenia. "To satisfy Turkey and make it ratify the
protocols, pressure on Armenia will be increased," he said.

contradictions, said Kiro Manoyan, ARFD Hay Dat and Political Affairs

"On the one hand he demands resignation of the President, on the other
hand he offers a deal to the authorities. Ter-Petrosyan’s statement
targeted the ARFD because of which the ANC lost monopoly at Armenia’s
opposition field," he said.

AZERBAIJAN CAN REFUSE TO CONTINUE NEGOTIATIONS

peacefully, or Azerbaijan will stop ineffective negotiations,

"Azerbaijan has no intention to conduct ineffective negotiations.

Despite Armenian officials’ statements on the readiness to resolve
Karabakh conflict, position, demonstrated by Armenia, does not meet
norms and regulations of international law," Bakililar.AZ cited Deputy
FM as saying.

The statement was made on the eve of Azeri and Armenian Presidents’
meeting due this weekend in Munich.

GUIDE FOR JOURNALISTS COVERING ECONOMY PRESENTED IN YEREVAN

presented November 19 at the NASDAQ OMX Armenia’s office in Yerevan.

The guide was prepared by the British Irving International Limited
company under "Workshops for Business and Economic Journalism" with
support of the British Embassy in Armenia. Experts of Internews NGO
participated in the preparation of the guide.

According to the executive director of Internews Nune Sargsyan, a
guide for journalists has been created through a series of workshops
to raise awareness of media representatives in the field of economics
and finance.

According to the British Ambassador in Armenia Charles Lonsdale
the UK is interested in promoting educated media in Armenian, which
contribute to the development of the society.

YEREVAN TO HOST JEET KUNE DO DEVOTED TO ON BRUCE LEE

take place November 22 in Yerevan, in the gym "Work" in memory of
the great master of this sport Bruce Lee .

"Our federation held the tournament in memory of Bruce Lee twice
a year – in November and in July, on the days of his birth and his
death," president of the Armenian Federation of Jeet Kune Do Artyush
Khandoyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

According to him, this time he tournament will be attended by 150-200
athletes above 8 years form Alaverdi, Artashat, Nagorno-Karabakh and
various sports schools in Yerevan. Winners will receive medals and
certificates, while the best teams will be awarded cups.

EU DOES NOT SHARE RUSSIA’S POSITION ON TRANSCAUCASIA SITUATION

Transcaucasia situation and we have to openly acknowledge this,"
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said after 24th Russia-EU meeting
in Stockholm. According to him, differences on the issue are not a
reason to dramatize the situation. "On the contrary, our positions
should be brought closer together. Ways are to be found to stabilize
complicated situation in Transcaucasia. Still, there are positive
examples of collaboration. A certain progress was registered in NKR
conflict settlement issue, which is a proof collaboration could be
effective but for the last years’ aggression," RF President emphasized.
