Moscow expresses sincere joy over RA-Turkey Protocols signing

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Russia expresses sincere joy over signing of
RA-Turkey Protocols, promoting security strengthening in the region,
and is ready to organize railway communication between the states, RA
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated after signing ceremony.

`Protocols’ signing is only the first step, which should be followed
by fast ratification and implementation,’ Lavrov said.

He noted that Protocols `determine parties’ further actions on
normalization of intergovernmental ties’ and will `boost trade and
economic contacts, making a positive impact on social and economic
situation both in Armenia and Turkey.’

`Russia is ready to support the process through further implementation
of collaboration projects between Armenia and Turkey, specifically, in
he spheres of electrical energy and transport,’ he said, adding that
INTER RAO UES OJSC participates in electric energy supplies from
Armenia to Turkey.

”Russian Railways OJSC is ready to provide stable and functional
railway communication between the states.”

He noted that `there are other promising projects that will positively
affect peoples’ quality of life’. Lavrov gave positive assessment to
`Armenian and Turkish partners’ pragmatic and businesslike joint work
towards settlement of complicated issues.’

`We sense the firm position on establishment of neighborly relations
between Armenia and Turkey, which has to promote further steps on
strengthening of peace and stability in the region,’ RIA Novosti cited
the Minister as saying.
