NIKOL PASHINYAN’S CASE SENT TO COURT

The case of Haykakan Zhamanak’s chief editor Nikol Pashinyan has been
remitted to the Kentron and Nork-Marash Court of First Instance for
the essential investigation, says Spokesman for RA Prosecutor-General’s
Office Sona Truzian.
On 30 September the prosecutor supervising the preliminary
investigation of Nikol Pashinyan’s criminal case investigated in the
RA Special Investigation Service on organizing 1-2 March, 2008 Yerevan
mass disorders together with a group of people and using violence,
not dangerous for life or health, against a policeman, confirmed the
bill of indictment.
On the proofs discovered during the preliminary investigation,
N. Pashinyan was charged according to the RA Criminal Code Article 316,
part 1 and Article 225, part 1.
On 5 August, 2009 N. Pashinyan and his defenders were informed about
the completion of the preliminary investigation of the criminal case
and the latter got acquainted with the materials of the criminal case
till September 18.
