AHMADINEJAD APPOINTS NEW VICE PRESIDENT

President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday appointed a new
first vice president Mohammad Reza Rahimi. The president chose for
the post 60-year-old Mohammad Reza Rahimi, who was one of several
vice presidents during his first four-year term, foreign media reports.
On 16 July Ahmadinejad appointed another first vice president,
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but his candidacy has been rejected by
supreme leader.
