ARMENIAN ARMED FORCES READY TO OPPOSE ANY AGGRESSION – DEFENSE MINISTER

The Armenian armed forces stand ready to counter any aggression,
said Armenian Defense Minister Seiran Oganian.

"We have gotten accustomed to the Azeri military hysteria and are
ready to oppose any aggression. We do not have an alternative,"
Oganian said on Public Television.

Armenia is ready not only to defend but, if need be, "carry out
various preemptive measures," he said.

Asked by the interviewer to be more specific and say whether he implied
offensive operations, Oganian replied, "Why not, be it an offensive or
counter-offensive, we need to guard civilians from the cruelty of war."
