VIOLATIONS AT ¹ 8/03 POLLING STATION RECORDED BY INVESTIGATIVE SERVICE

/PanARMENIA N.Net/ The recount of ballot is made by the RA Special
Investigative service in the presence of representatives of the RA
Central Electoral Committee, General prosecutor’s Office, mass media
and MP from the Heritage parliamentarian fraction.

According to a PanARMENIAN.net reporter, absence of the seal and
signature was recorded during opening of the package of the ¹ 8/03
polling station.12 envelopes were contained in the package without
obligatory seal and signatures of three members of the district
electoral committee.

Violations have been recorded during checking and comparing the number
of ballots in the package with the registered number of voted electors
in the legal book. The number of 1578 voters was recorded, while the
number of the ballots in the package was equal to 1606. The books of
registration of votes were not in the envelope, as the election law
requires. All 417 ballot papers in one of the envelopes were torn to
small pieces.

According to the representative of the Special Investigative service,
revealed facts can reflect falsifications, that is a serious violation
of the law.

On June 4 the Special Investigative service of Armenia for examination
of the facts of falsifications during the Yerevan City Council
elections carried out a public recount of ballots of the two ¹ 8/03
and 8/01 polling stations of Malatia-Sabastia community.

Director, Igor Klimko denies the information on closure of Beeline
service offices at the news conference today. According to Mr. Klimko
Armentel hasn’t closed its offices on Saryan and Teryan streets,
moreover according to him, they have never had an client service office
on Teryan street. The office on Saryan street was closed in 2001. "I
am very much surprised, that the mass media outlets have remembered
about that 8 years later," he said. A day before some Armenian media,
quoting each other, reported on the closure of Beeline’s offices on
Vazgen Sargsyan, Saryan and Teryan streets.

start of 2009. On June 5, the House of Writers of Tsahkadzor will host
a four-day exhibition of German comic painters. Similar exhibition

organized by the German Embassy in Armenia in cooperation with RA

culture preserves Shengavit and Karmir Blur have been approved by
two documents, signed on February 5 and March 3 this year, Ashot
Piliposyan, director of the Erebuni museum told a PanARMENIAN.net
reporter.

"Tens, hundreds and thousands of books are written about any historical
and archeological memorial. They lose their significance in the course
of time, but a memorial remains a durable source of information and
the subject of research," he said. Ashot Piliposyan emphasized the
importance of defining the territories and boundaries of the two
historical and archeological culture preserves.

Vardanyan with manager of the Armenia’s national team of figure
skating Armen Asoyan left for Los Angeles, U.S. on June 2. They will
be coached by Rafael Haroutiunian, trainer of the fivefold world
champion Michelle Kwan by June 24.

Gegham and Ani will be preparing for the international rating
competition to be held in the German Oberstdorf between September 24
and 30. To receive a right to participate in the 2010 Winter Olympic
Games in Wangoover Armenian figure skaters must be among first six
in the rating competition.

According to Samvel Khachatryan, president of the Armenian Federation
of Figure Skating, the federation is looking for additional resources
to prolong the stay of the Armenian sportsmen in the U.S. "The
conditions in the U.S. to prepare for the international competitions
are perfect. Our figure skaters will be trained at the "Bears’ forest"
skating-rink, which is one of the best rinks in the United States,"
he said. Until now, all expenses related to the travel and training of
Armenian figure skaters in the U.S. were covered by National Olympic
Committee and its president Gagik Tsarukyan.

announced today about two new services for users of fixed and mobile
telephony services: universal payment card and balance-transfer
service.

The universal payment card enables subscribers to charge accounts of
fixed and mobile telephones of the Beeline network. These cards of
AMD 1000, 2500, 5000, 10000 and 20000 can be purchased at ArmenTel’s
service offices, shops and news-stands. Additional fee is not charged
at the payment.

The new balance-transfer service is designed for the customers of
Beeline prepayment system and enables to transfer money from own
accounts to any fixed or mobile telephone’s account in the Beeline
network.

According to the director general of Armentel Igor Klimko, customers
don’t need any more to visit ArmenTel’s offices to pay their telephons’
bills. Besides, they can directly and more simply pay the accounts
of their relatives.

To use this service, one needs to dial *145*number of receiver*transfer
sum# on a mobile phone. The cost of a transfer is AMD25 (VAT is
included).

Again Writer Faces Trial In Turkey

/PanARMENIAN .Net/ Turkish-French author Nedim Gursel still faces a
lawsuit for his novel "Allah’ýn Kýzlarý" (Daughters of God). The
novel, which was released last year in March by Doðan Publishing
House, is still being tried for insulting religious values under
Article 216 of the Turkish Penal Code. Gursel was first tried for his
second novel. The storybook titled "Kadýnlar Kitabý" (Women’s Book),
which was released in 1983 and removed from shelves in the same week,
was charged with having offended the public, Hurriyet Daily News says.

Gursel left Turkey in the same year and moved to Paris, where he
still lives and serves as the president of France’s National Center
for Scientific Research, or CNRS.

platform will be held tomorrow, June 5, in Brussels, Anahit
Azatyan, Press Secretary of Euro-Comission’s Yerevan Office, told a
PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent. "Platform will focus on democracy,
good governance and stability. The other platforms, devoted to
economic integration, energy and people to people contacts, will
also be launched during the month of June," Euro-commission says in a
statement. The aim of the platforms is to support the eastern partners’
efforts to approximate to EU standards, to foster exchanges of
experience and best practice and to strengthen contacts between them.

"The launch of the multilateral platforms is key to the success of
the Eastern Partnership. I hope that it will bring very concrete
support to our partners’ reform efforts, as well as deepen mutual
understanding" said Commissioner for External Relations and European
Neighborhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner. The June 5 meeting will be
presided over by a Euro-committee representative. It will concentrate
on mapping out fields for cooperation, and will discuss the launch
of two Flagship Initiatives, on border management and prevention,
preparedness and response to disasters. Other meetings are planned as
follows: Energy security platform – June 17, and Platform on Economic
integration and convergence with EU policies – June 26.
