The results of an on-line poll available on the ARKA-Telecom site
show that 36.4% of the respondents believe the global financial and
economic crisis will cause a gradual decline in the Armenian IT-sector.
On the other hand, 34% of the respondents believe the crisis will open
up new opportunities for the IT-sector, 11.2% said that the crisis
will not cause any changes on the Armenian market or cause a collapse
of the country’s IT-sector. Also, 7.3% of the respondents found it
difficult to say anything about possible impact of the crisis on the
Armenian IT-sector.
The on-line poll was conducted March 14 to June 9 and involved 206
respondents.
On November 3, 2008, the ARKA News Agency launched a new project,
www.teleÑ~Aom.arka.am. The website was designed to report on-line
information, analyses and interviews, views and comments by experts.
