U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Philip Gordon said today that
"there were problems" in the municipal elections in Yerevan May 31.
Mediamax reports that Philip Gordon noted that the U.S. government
has not formally articulated positions concerning the elections in
Yerevan, but will be announced shortly. Assistant Secretary of State
also expressed regret at the decision of the Armenian opposition to
abandon the mandates in the town council of Yerevan.
