`Armenian Golgatha: A Memoir of the Armenian Genocide of 1915-1918′ at
a discussion hosted by Facing History and Ourselves and the Allstate
Foundation. Balakian’s book tells the story of his great-uncle,
Grigoris Balakian, who witnessed first-hand the atrocities that his
generation of Armenians endured. Peter Balakian also wrote `The
Burning Tigris: The Armenian Genocide and America’s Response.’
