occasion of honored art critic Henrik Igityan’s death.
In his condolence letter on the occasion of Mr. Igityan’s death,
President Serzh Sargsyan says:
"Henrik Igityan was a unique personality in contemporary Armenian art;
he was one of the pillars of Armenian culture. In all his initiatives,
he was a pioneer who managed to overcome any difficulty seeming
insurmountable to others. Showing the truth and beauty, he managed
to prove that a patriot and man of art does not recognize any obstacle.
Henrik found that any person considering himself an intellectual
should always be in a leading position. Such was his personality
both as a public-political figure and a man of art. The Contemporary
Art Museum founded by the great master promoted the development of
our art and his aesthetic centre became a unique kind of institution
all over the world. The cultural centers founded by Igityan continue
advocating art without conventionalities.
