NERSES ERITSIAN: OPENING OF THE ARMENIAN-TURKISH BOARDER IS USEFUL EITHER FOR ARMENIA OR FOR TURKEY

Yerevan, April 30, Noyan Tapan. I have only positive expectations
from the possible opening of the Armenian-Turkish border. Open and
free markets are useful for either for Armenia, or for Turkey, told
the minister of economy of Armenia, Nerses Yeritsian told a press
conference on April 29. In N.Eritsian’s opinion, psychology of two
nations will be changed after opening the boarder, which will bring new
initiatives. "The most important thing is a considerable reduction of
transportation costs, since the direct way to the Mediterranean Sea
will cut expenses made by businessmen by 20-30 per cent," stressed
the minister, adding, that these are satisfactory arguments to be
optimistic in respect to opening of the Armenian-Turkish border.
