EDITOR-IN-CHIEF OF NEWSPAPER ARRESTED IN AZERBAIJAN

Zohrab Sadigov, editor-in-chief of "Kadr ve tereggi" newspaper, which
fell under the Press Council’s list of "racketeering newspapers" 2008,
has been arrested. Aghdam Region Police Office told APA’s Karabakh
bureau that Sadigov is accused of committing several crimes. The
police detained him over raping. An unnamed woman appealed to the
police and said she was raped by Sadigov. The other illegal actions of
the editor-in-chief were revealed while investigating this complaint.
Aghdam Region Prosecutor’s Office is carrying out investigation
in connection with the editor-in-chief. It was impossible to get
information about his arrest from the prosecutor’s office.
