TELETHON-2008 ` RECORD TAKINGS
YEREVAN, 28.11.08. DE FACTO. In the course of the Telethon held in Los
Angeles on November 27, $ 35 million 9156 was gathered. These are the
official data of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, the traditional initiator
of Telethons targeted at fund-raising for the development of the
Republic of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
According to information DE FACTO received at the Fund’s Press Office,
$1 300 000 had been gathered in Los Angeles, about $200 000 in Lebanon,
about $130 000 in Montréal, $100 000 in Argentina, $200 000 in the U.
K., $40 000 in Holland, $50 000 in Australia, $200 000 in New York, $1
500 000 in France, $85 000 in Germany, about $33 000 in Switzerland,
$250 000 in Toronto, about $40 000 in Armenia and Cyprus.
To note, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President, who is currently in
the United States on a visit, actively participated in the preparation
of the 11th Telethon.
Current year’s results are record and surpassed last years’ outcomes.
To remind, $ 15 million was gathered at the analogous action.
The means gathered during Telethon-2008 will be mainly targeted at the
projects on the development of rural regions of Armenia and
Nagorno-Karabakh.
