ArmInfo. Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved Ambassador
Nominee to Armenia.

As ANCA told ArmInfo, In the midst of mounting Senate scrutiny and
theprospect of a "hold" on Marie Yovanovitch’s nomination to serve
asthe next U.S. Ambassador to Armenia, the State Department,
today,cleared the way for her approval by retreating from
statementscalling into question the historical record of the Ottoman
Empire’sdestruction of its Armenian population. "The Administration
recognizes that the mass killings, ethnic cleansing and forced
deportations of over one and a half million Armenians were conducted
by the Ottoman Empire."
