ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT EARMARKS 270MLN AMD TO IMPROVE RESORT TOWN OF JERMUK

Armenian government has allocated 270mln AMD (over $891,000) for the
development of the resort town of Jermuk in the Vayots Dzor region.
The regional administration will receive 70mln AMD (over $231,000)
from the reserve fund within nine months to improve the neighbourhood
of the ropeway and 200mln AMD (more than $660,000) will be used to
build a new ski-run.
Armenia is considering the possibility of creating a regional resort
centre in Jermuk, 175 kilometres far from capital Yerevan. Jermuk is
a balneotherapeutic and climatic alpine health resort known for its
mineral water and waterfall.
