BAPTIST PASTOR ARRESTED IN AZERBAIJAN

Baptist pastor Hamid Shabanov was arrested in Zaqatala region of
Azerbaijan.
According to Interfax, he was detained for storing prohibited
religious books.
According to spokesman for the State Commission for work with religious
structures in Azerbaijan, the activity of the baptist community in
Zaqatala region is illegal as the said community was permitted to
function only in Baku and Sumgayit.
