Armenian, Azeri leaders start talks on Karabakh issue in St Petersburg
Yerevan, 6 June: The meeting between Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan
and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has started in St Petersburg
[Russia].
Currently the leaders of the two countries are having a conversation
in the presence of the Russian, American and French co-chairs of the
OSCE Minsk Group, the personal representative of the OSCE
chairman-in-office and the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers.
Before the meeting of the presidents, the Armenian and Azerbaijani
foreign ministers held a separate meeting which lasted for about an
hour.
It is expected that later on Sargsyan and Aliyev will have one-to-one
meeting.
This is the first meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents
after Serzh Sargsyan was elected Armenian president.
