GEORGIA’S OSSETIA PLEDGES MILITARY SUPPORT TO AZERBAIJAN’S BREAKAWAY
REGION
[Presenter] It has become clear during the hearings on the
self-proclaimed republics held at the Russian State Duma that the
unrecognized republics closely cooperate in the military sphere.
[Tarzan Kokoyty, South Ossetian deputy parliament chairman, speaking
to a Lider correspondent in Russian with Azerivoice-over] We are
cooperating with the Nagornyy Karabakh republic in numerous spheres –
political, economic andmilitary spheres. We have a mutual agreement
on cooperation in the military and defence spheres. If Azerbaijan
attacks Nagornyy Karabakh, we will give all kinds of military support
to Armenians. Moreover, joint military exercises are held on
territories in our control every year.
