A Canadair plane carrying 21 people crashed on takeoff from Armenia’s
capital early today but there were no deaths reported, a civil aviation
authority spokesperson said.
The Canadair CRJ-100 was heading for Minsk, Belarus, when it flipped
over on the runway at Zvartnots Airport and burst into flames,
said Avtiom Movsissian. There were 18 passengers and three crew
members aboard.
The spokesperson did not immediately know the airline to which the
plane belonged.
The CRJ-100 is made by Montreal-based Bombardier Inc.
