ARMENIAN PRESIDENT CONGRATULATES GEORGIA’S SAAKASHVILI ON RE-ELECTION

Tbilisi, 8 January: Armenian President Robert Kocharyan on 7 January
congratulated [former Georgian president and presidential hopeful]
Mikheil Saakashvili on the victory [in the 5 January] presidential
election.
"I cordially congratulate you on your re-election. I am convinced that
you will continue to implement the reforms that are directed towards
the reinforcement of stability, democracy and the continuation of
economic reforms," [Kocharyan’s] congratulatory letter reads.
"Armenia considers that it is necessary to strengthen good neighbourly
relations, the development of regional cooperation and the preservation
of peace which is a guarantee for maintaining stability in South
Caucasus. I wish you success, good health and the fulfilment of the
tasks you have set for yourself," the letter reads.
