NET FOREIGN DEBT OF ARMENIA DECLINES BY 36.4 MILLION DOLLARS TO 707.16 MILLION DOLLARS IN SECOND QUARTER OF 2007

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 5, NOYAN TAPAN. The gross foreign debt of Armenia
made 2 bln 261.26 mln USD in late June 2007, growing by 149.8 mln
USD as compared with the index of late March 2007.
According to the RA National Statistical Service, 48.08% of
gross foreign debt formed in the state governance system, 19.65%
– in the private sector, 8.02% – in monetary and credit regulation
bodies, 11.62% – in commercial banks, and 12.64% were foreign direct
investments in the form of interfirm credits received by organizations
in verious sectors of economy.
Gross foreign assets of Armenia made 1 bln 554.10 mln USD in late
June 2007, growing by 186.20 mln USD in the second quarter of 2007.
As a result, Armenia’s net foreign debt declined by 36.4 mln USD to
707.16 mln USD.
