AT PRESENT 3000 SWINE HAVE BECOME VICTIMS OF AFRICAN FEVER IN ARMENIA

At present 3000 swine have become victims of African fever in Armenia,
deputy director of State Inspection on Food Products Safety and
Veterinary Gevorg Tovmasyan told Arminfo correspondent.
He also added that they continue liquidating swine within a radius
of 3 km from the nidus of infection, which still remain unchanged:
7 niduses of infection in Tavush and Lori regions. The control points
continue acting in the 24-hours regime and policemen and workers of
Veterinary service help them. Moreover, special disinfection barriers
are set on roads for motor transport disinfection. Tovmasyan also said
that today the situation is under control. ‘All possible measures are
taken for prevention of African swine fever distribution in Armenia’,
– he emphasized.
