The president of the Javakheti Union of Compatriots Shirak Torosyan
elected to parliament on the Republican ticket told reporters the last
catholicos who visited Javakheti was Khrimyan Hairik. One hundred
years later new churches are built but there are not enough clergy,
he said adding that Catholicos Garegin II should visit Javakheti. He
said the pastor of Georgia Ilia II often visits Javakheti.
