GEORGIA DOUBLES EXPORTS TO TURKEY

TBILISI, JULY 30, ARMENPRESS: In the first six months of this year
Georgia doubled its exports to neighboring Turkey to $84.2 million,
RIA Novosti Georgia reported citing the numbers released by the
national statistical service.
It said ferrous metal scrap exports rose $22 million to $42 million,
while exports of aluminum and copper scrap rose $6 million each to
almost $14 million.
Turkish exports to Georgia in January-June grew 53 percent to almost
$304 million. Export of Turkish potato rose $10 million, refrigerator
equipment $3.6 million Georgian Laris and exports of plastic tubes
by 3.4 million Laris.
In January-June Georgian-Turkish trade amounted to $388 million,
or 14 percent of Georgia’s foreign trade.
