ARMENIA INTENDS TO DOUBLE THE PEACEKEEPING FORCES IN KOSOVO

Armenia will expand its participation in the peacekeeping mission in
Kosovo and is negotiating on sending several military doctors and
Officers to Afghanistan, Head of the Department on International
Military Cooperation and Defense Programs, Major-General Mikhael
Melkonyan declared at a press conference in the NATO Information
Centre today.

General Melkonyan noted that "the issue of doubling the number of
Armenian peacekeepers in Kosovo is being discussed."

As for Afghanistan, the discussions refer to the detachment of several
military doctors and 1-2 Officers, Mikhael Melkonyan said.
