ARMENIAN RAILWAY REPLENISHED WITH FIVE ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVES

YEREVAN, MAY 21, NOYAN TAPAN. The Armenian railway has been replenished
with five locomotives which have been leased from Russian Railways
company. The locomotives, whose market price is 4 million dollars
and over, will be operated by Armenian Railway company by termless
and minimal lease payments.
According to a press release of the PR Department of the RA Ministry
of Transport and Communication, they were transported via Kavkaz-Poti
ferry link, which was put into operation last week.
The electric locomotives have undegone major repairs and have a
capacity of 5,200 kilowatts, which enables to carry 1,200-1,300 tons
of cargo in a train in conditions of a complex relief.
