Armenian leader pledges to punish falsifiers in parliamentary poll

Yerevan, 5 May: At a meeting with governors today, Armenian President Robert
Kocharyan promised to punish falsifiers in the upcoming 12 May parliamentary
election.

The election campaign and the preparations for the parliamentary election
were discussed at the meeting, the presidential press service told Arminfo.
The president noted the necessity of conducting the election in line with the
Electoral Code. Kocharyan also noted the importance of ensuring the normal
functioning of all state agencies on the polling day, including the support
for the formation of the territorial electoral commissions.
Minister for Territorial Administration Hovik Abramyan, Yerevan’s deputy
mayor and the chairman of the Central Electoral Commission Garegin Azaryan
attended the meeting.
