Strong Quake on Kuril Islands – Tsunami Possible

STRONG QUAKE ON KURIL ISLANDS – TSUNAMI POSSIBLE

Yerevan, January 13. ArmInfo. A 7.9-point earthquake took place 500 km
south-west of Severo-Kurilsk, Kuril Islands, Russia, today 8:13 AM.

The National Seismic Protection Service of Armenia reports that in the
epicenter the magnitude was 10-11 points on 12-point MSK-64 scale. The
epicenter was in Pacific Ocean so there is a threat of
tsunami. Population is being evacuated.
