Former Prime Minister of Armenia, rector of the Armenian-Russian
University Armen Darbinyan expressed his joy today, “I’m very glad
that a Russian company has become the owner of the telecommunication
operator in Armenia”. Last week Russian “Vympelcom” announced about
the purchase of 90% of the shares of “ArmenTel”.
Armen Darbinyan said he is sorry that in 1998 when the company was
being sold there were no Russian companies among the potential buyers.
