The National Assembly of Armenia has a new Chairman. With 94 pro votes
coalition candidate Tigran Torosyan was elected NA Speaker. Preceding
the elections, he delivered a speech and answered the Deputies’
questions. Parliamentary groups supported his candidacy, the opposition
decided not to participate in the elections. “Orinats Yerkir” party,
headed by former NA Speaker Arthur Baghdasaryan, unanimously voted
for Tigran Torosyan, but refused to participate in the elections of
Heads of Standing Committees.
