The Academy of Sciences of Russia has awarded Yuri Osipov Lomonosov
Big Gold Medal.
According to Nezovisimaya Gazeta, the academician was awarded “for
his fundamental contribution into the physics of movements in solid
bodies and for inventing the photoplastic effect.”
