Armenian airline to buy lease 3 Airbuses after crash, fire

YEREVAN, May 6 (RIA Novosti) – Armavia, Armenia’s national airline,
said Saturday it would lease three new Airbus planes after losing two –
one with 113 people on board – in three days earlier this week.
An Armavia-owned A-320 crashed into Black Sea in stormy weather
Wednesday with the loss of 105 passengers and eight crewmembers,
and another one was destroyed in a fire at Belgium’s Zaventem airport
early Friday.
The company said in a news release that the additions to its fleet
would only be “new aircraft.”
The release said the first A-319 produced in 2004 or 2005 would start
operating by May 15.
