Yerevan, 29 July: As of 1 July 2005, Armenia’s permanent population
reached 3,215,900 people – 1,664,300 women and 1,551,600 men,
Armenia’s National Statistics Service has said.
In 2003, the life expectancy among men was 69.9 and women 75.8. In
January-June, infant deaths per 1,000 babies under the age of one were
11.4 per 1,000 babies – 8.6 per 1,000 for girls and 13.7 per 1,000 for
boys.
Infant deaths among children up to the age of five were 12.6 per 1,000
– 10 per 1,000 for girls and 14.8 per 1,000 for boys.
