There is no connection between the members of the Diocesan Council of Artsakh and Bishop Vrtanes

April 23, 2026

Even last year, on November 27, Nikol Pashinyan published a video on his Facebook page, stating that he had met with a group of bishops of the Apostolic Church, and there was only one issue on the agenda of the meeting: the removal of His Holiness the Patriarch from the Catholicosic throne. Among the bishops who met with Nikol Pashinyan, the leader of the Artsakh Diocese Vrtanes shocked people the most. The Armenians of Artsakh were first shocked by the action of the leader of the Diocese, then they were angry and decided to go to him personally and find out why he joined Nikol Pashinyan’s anti-Church and anti-Catholic campaign and came out against the Patriarch.

Of course, none of the Artsakh Armenians received the answer to this question from Bishop Vrtanes personally, but the bishops who met with Nikol Pashinyan received the name “tiradav”.

It seemed that, taking into account the anger of the Artsakh Armenians, the leader of the Diocese of Artsakh would understand all the shame and consequences of his action and return to his original functions, that is, dealing with the spiritual and cultural problems of the Artsakh Armenians and keeping them united, but it did not happen, because weeks after meeting with Nikol Pashinyan, on December 18, 10 “tyrants” went to the Mother See, joining against the Church of St. Etchmiadzin “attacked” several dozen people and former priests who were disorganized.

This step of Bishop Vrtanes upset and surprised the members of the Diocesan Council of Artsakh, although after the meeting with Nikol Pashinyan, he issued a statement stating that “he participated in the meeting with Pashinyan as a member of the episcopal committee of the Mother See, and it has nothing to do with the Artsakh issue and the issues that concern our compatriots.” This statement, of course, angered the Artsakh Armenians even more.

During these months, Reverend Vrtanes did not have any contact with media representatives, he left all phone calls unanswered.

Today, we learned that the members of the Artsakh diocesan council last met with Bishop Vrtanes on December 8, after that several members of the diocese, including the chairman, have nothing to do with him.

Today, there is no connection between the members of the diocesan council and Bishop Vrtanes, the members of the diocesan council mainly work with the Mother See without the mediation of Bishop Vrtanes.

According to our source, Reverend Vrtanes probably realized the serious consequences of his actions while remaining in isolation, and he has to publicly admit that he made a big mistake by joining the false agenda put forward by Nikol Pashinyan.

Let’s remind that last year, on May 26, Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, went to Bern, Switzerland, and participated in the “Religious Freedom” organized by the World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Swiss Protestant Church. at the international forum entitled “Preservation of the Armenian spiritual, cultural and historical heritage in Artsakh/Nagar Karabakh”. During the conference, His Holiness addressed not only the issues of preservation of the spiritual and cultural heritage in Artsakh, but also the return of prisoners and Armenians of Artsakh held illegally in Baku. After that, the attacks on His Holiness and the church began, first, the spiritual leader of Azerbaijan accused the Apostolic Church of “inciting war”, then the RA government, led by Nikol Pashinyan, started the attacks, demanding the removal of the Catholicos.

The war against Iran and TRIPP. How does the war in Iran complicate TRIPP?

April 23, 2026

While there are conflicting statements from Washington and Tehran about the possible extension of the ceasefire and the resumption of the second round of negotiations, the new attacks in the Strait of Hormuz prove that the “neither war nor peace” situation is unstable and can turn into military operations at any moment.

The targeting of three more cargo ships by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the detention of two of them is a clear signal that Tehran is not ready to make concessions under the US naval blockade. Moreover, it is a clear message that Tehran will respond to every step of the US, and it was a response to the earlier arrest of a ship under the Iranian flag by the US.

Despite serious political mistakes in the Middle East, Washington continues to play up its so-called peace-loving image, once again referring to the Armenia-Azerbaijan agreements.  Steve Witkoff, the special representative of the US president, at the Real Estate Impact annual conference held at the University of Miami, referring to the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement process, announced that Azerbaijan and Armenia reached an agreement in just six weeks.

“We concluded that agreement within six weeks. They (Azerbaijan and Armenia) fought for 37 years and now they are best friends. By the way, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev are now good friends. US President Donald Trump brought them closer. It is quite remarkable,” said Wittkoff.

For the expert community, the future of the Yerevan-Baku Washington agreements, in particular TRIPP, remains uncertain against the backdrop of the Iran war, although the RA authorities claim that the parties are working.

The latest developments around Iran and the new wave of regional instability are directly affecting the pace of implementation of the TRIPP project. The main idea of TRIPP is to ensure uninterrupted and safe communication between East and West, which has become a rather difficult problem in the current conditions of the region.

Large infrastructure projects require large investments and long-term sustainability. Under these circumstances, although there are many countries interested in TRIPP, as RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan recently claimed, the USA and the above-mentioned countries condition their substantive steps on the end of the war with Iran. Uncertainty forces donor organizations to take a wait-and-see position, which slows down funding flows and, consequently, follow-up.

In conversation with us Russian analyst Konstantin Simonov said that if the war situation around Iran continues, the implementation of TRIPP will also be delayed.

According to him, it is a well-known fact that transport projects develop rapidly only where there is predictability and stable peace. And in this case, according to him, there are no such prerequisites.

“There is a war in Iran, regardless of the extension of the ceasefire, the situation is explosive, the probability of reaching an agreement is quite low, in addition, Iran has an attitude towards the implementation of American projects near its borders. Therefore, I think that Yerevan and Washington continue technical discussions at a certain level, but the practical stage, in my opinion, may be delayed.” said the analyst.

In addition, the expert believes that the success of TRIPP implies multilateral cooperation, where the West, Central Asia and the South Caucasus should act in harmony.

“However, the prolongation of the conflict over Iran pushes regional players to caution and polarization. “When the region, especially Iran, is at war, the security priorities in neighboring countries come first, and all decisions are made based on these considerations,” said Simonov.

The Russian analyst believes that this war, its possible outcome, as well as further regional and geopolitical developments can also affect the implementation of such an important geopolitical logistics project.

“As it is known, Russia is also not enthusiastic about that project, Iran is against it, and it is difficult to say how the issues will be raised after the end of the war. It is not excluded that nothing will change, but it is also not excluded that there will be changes, and Iran will raise the issues much more acutely. Therefore, this is a project, the implementation of which really depends on the Iran war, both from a geopolitical and technical and economic point of view.” he said.

Tomorrow is April 24. the 111th anniversary of the Great Genocide is coming to an end, and, naturally, these days, a number of questions are becoming more relevant, what will be the fate of the recognition, condemnation and overcoming the consequences of the Armenian Genocide, if, of course, the problem can be formulated in this way, what is its significance not only for our past, but also for our present and future, for our security, our existence and identity, and what is the state of the process of international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide by the representatives of the current government of Armenia, In the conditions of pushing the issue of the Armenian Genocide into the background and apparently engaging in the speeches of Turkish denial.

On topic 168 TVs «Revue:” is the guest of the program Hayk Demoyan, former director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, Doctor of Historical Sciences.

«We have a completely different situation on the eve of the 111th anniversary. We started 2015 with events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, and a pan-Armenian declaration was also adopted. Of course, we must understand that we have no right to be emotional, we must carefully consider the situation that exists today in international relations, in international law and in general around us. This was not what Nikol Pashinyan and Ararat Mirzoyan are repeating, who want to reorganize themselves in the conditions of new realities, by honoring the memory of the victims and the victims, disrespecting the memory of the victims and the survivors, they first want to establish themselves and formulate messages to Ankara and Baku. The hybrid peace, not the “hybrid war” that they constantly emphasize, the hybrid peace that today they want to wrap around the neck of the Armenian people, has its open and hidden sides, it is another useless and fruitless effort to achieve that Turkey will at least open a little under some pretext, so to speak, the door through which they can sneak in. It won’t happen because Turkey has its own prerequisite language, Azerbaijan has its own prerequisite language, and worst case scenario for the velvet group, the two together have synchronized prerequisites that will be updated regularly.“, the Genocide expert commented in particular.

Hayk Demoyan declares that the efforts to renounce Western Armenia, Ararat, the marginalization of the memory of the Great Genocide, the making of negative statements and this “KVN” of the memory of the Armenian Genocide are purposeful, have a specific purpose and a client.

«Today, we are dealing with a government that is a follower of orders, including the issue of commemorating and forgetting the memory of the Armenian Genocide.– says the Genocide expert.

Hayk Demoyan describes Nikol Pashinyan’s famous statements about the Armenian Genocide as complete ignorance, stating:

«In such cases, in our school they say: bring your diary, TWO. Moreover, they write two of them with red ink.”

Commenting on illiteracy, of course, does not bring honor to any person, let alone science, let alone Genocide studies. Pashinyan is trying to open windows, open Overton’s window and sneak in there, start discussing the topic. If he had read a small book, instead of writing a shameful book, he should have understood that it is not necessary to approach the topic of genocide when you have not read, first, a survivor’s memoir, any scientific work,” Hayk Demoyan added.

Talking about the forced depopulation and ethnic cleansing of Artsakh in the context of the topic, the genocide expert emphasizes that it was a genocidal act, and “Nikol Pashinyan and his team were personally involved in the genocide.”

Hayk Demoyan considers the targeting of the memory of the genocide and history by the current authorities to be the most dangerous phenomenon. Drawing historical parallels with the example of the “denazification” of Germany after the defeat of Nazi Germany during the Second World War, the historian says:

“It should be prohibited by law to be a member of the Communist Party, the Communist Party, because what happened in 2018 and who organized and prepared the handing over of power to Nikol is fascism.”

Hayk Demoyan also spoke about the situation in the museum-institute after the dismissal of the director of the HCTI, Edita Gzoyan, and the situation related to the renovation of the Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex.

Speaking about the Torchlight Procession, which is traditionally held today, April 23, Hayk Demoyan mentioned that he would like this year’s Torchlight Procession to be a process of rejecting people and phenomena.

168: There is no hope of living well. Wage growth is slowing, inflation is accelerating

April 23, 2026

Inflation in Armenia has intensified since the beginning of the year. Wage growth has slowed down and inflation has accelerated. This means that this year the ordinary citizen, who only relies on salary and has no other income, will not live well. On the contrary, many people will live worse because their incomes will not increase due to price increases.

Of course, this does not apply to the ruling political team, the members of the CP who hold public positions and are richly fed by state funds, who receive not only high salaries, but also bonuses and other incomes in excess of the salary. The incomes of these people are so high now that inflation, even activated inflation, does not change much in their life and lifestyle. Now they receive so much income that they can not only not notice the inflation, but also afford to buy expensive houses, apartments, cars and continue to live a luxurious life.

The impact of inflation is felt first of all by those citizens whose incomes, anyway, barely met the minimum needs, if, of course, they did. If they didn’t satisfy, now they won’t satisfy more, and these people will have to be satisfied with less now. Acceleration of inflation is a problem especially for the socially disadvantaged groups of the society, which are quite a large number in Armenia today.

According to official data, the rate of inflation in Armenia has accelerated by almost 40 percent since the beginning of the year. Average inflation reached 4.5 percent. But it still does not say much to an ordinary citizen living on a salary, because he feels the impact of price increases on him to a much greater extent than the 4.5 percent inflation. It is expressed first of all through price increases coming from the markets of food and basic necessities. Food products, according to the latest data, managed to increase in price by 7.8 percent. That’s after last year’s 5.4 percent inflation.

Cumulative food inflation in Armenia was 13.2 percent in two years.

Now imagine what kind of heavy burden of price increases is borne by the citizen whose incomes have hardly increased during 2 years or have increased less than the cumulative inflation. But let’s leave cumulative inflation aside and talk about this year’s inflationary manifestations.

In March, compared to March of the previous year, food prices in Armenia increased by 7.8 percent. Meanwhile, the average salary increased by 5.3 percent. We also know whose account it was. There are 2-3 areas where salary increases occur, which leads to an increase in the average salary, although many working citizens usually do not feel this increase. For example, minimum wage workers, whose salary was AMD 75,000 3 years ago, and it is now. And those people, in the same way as bureaucrats who receive millions, are affected by inflation.

Wage increases elude many, instead they face inflation at every turn. According to the latest data, compared to last year, the average salary in Armenia increased by 14.9 thousand drams. We are talking about the so-called dirty salary increase. If we remove the taxes, the increase will be barely 10-11 thousand drams. But it was mainly at the expense of high salary earners. In organizations with up to 50 employees, where people receive a maximum of 238 thousand drams on average, according to official data, the average salary, which is not yet taxed, has increased by only 3.5-4 thousand drams in the last 1 year. It is about 340,000 workers, who make up almost 42 percent of working citizens.

The average salaries of these people increased by only 1.7-2.5 percent in 1 year. During that same period, the rate of inflation was twice as high.

In the case of food products, the rate of inflation has more than tripled the rate of increase in wages received by those 340 thousand working citizens.

Do you think these people started to live better or worse?

It is clear that it is worse than they lived at least one, maybe several years ago.

Taking into account the fact that there is no hope of raising the minimum wage this year, and as we can see, the wages of low-wage citizens are growing much slower than the accelerating inflation, which means that they will not live well in the near future, they will live even worse than today.

According to official data, the highest inflation in the food market this year was recorded in the case of eggs. Compared to the previous year, the price of eggs has increased by more than 30 percent. There are other products whose inflation is close to it, but let’s assume that these products are not very vitally important for citizens. However, we cannot say the same, for example, about meat products, which recorded double-digit inflation. The price of beef has increased the most, by more than 15 percent in the last 1 year. The inflation of lamb meat is close to 14 percent, and the price of pork meat has increased by 12 percent.

The inflation of fish products was relatively low. Trout has increased in price by 3 percent this year, but after the sharp price increase of the previous year. The price of that same trout increased by 21.5% last year, and this year the prices have increased by 3% on top of 21.5%.

Let’s move to the dairy market, where twelve-month inflation in March was 12.8 percent.

After last year’s almost 14 percent inflation, vegetable oil is expensive by another 9.5 percent. In the last 1 year, the inflation of butter was 8.2 percent, cheese – 8.1 percent.

Bread products, fruits and vegetables have become more expensive. Vegetables, especially after last year’s sharp price increase.

We are not talking about the price increases of non-food products, let alone services. And hundreds and thousands of citizens, including working citizens, whose wages hardly increase or increase much less than inflation, are affected by all of these.

Nikol Pashinyan and the CP members, who from time to time claim that they have improved people’s lives, now let them say whether these 340,000 working citizens, or 42 percent of employees, whose wage growth rate was at least twice lower than the average inflation, three times lower than food inflation, are they living better or worse.

RFE/RL – Russian Bank Selling Armenian Mining Giant

April 23, 2026
Armenia – A view of the Teghut copper mine.

A state-owned Russian bank, VTB, is close to completing the sale of its controlling stake in one of Armenia’s largest mining companies acquired by it in 2019.

VTB had taken over the Teghut company after its previous owner’s failure to repay a $400 million loan provided by the bank’s Armenian subsidiary. According to an Armenian state registry, the bank now owns almost 50 percent of the company exploiting the country’s second largest copper and molybdenum deposit.

The VTB chairman, Andrei Kostin, spoke on Wednesday of the “final stages” of the sale. He gave no details of the deal which has to be approved by Armenia’s anti-trust regulator.

Sources told RFE/RL’s Armenian Service that the likely buyer of the stake is Konstantin Sokolov, a Russian-born U.S. entrepreneur, or companies linked to him. Sokolov is already one of the two co-owners of the parent company of Viva Armenia, one of the country’s three mobile phone operators.

Production operations at Teghut’s eponymous open-pit mine in the northern Lori province ground to a halt in March 2022 after VTB and other major Russian banks were sanctioned by the West following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The company employed more than 1,000 people at the time. It resumed the mining operations a year later.

Teghut was 22nd on the Armenian State Revenue Committee’s list of the largest corporate taxpayers last year, with 14.4 billion drams ($38 million) in various taxes contributed to the state budget. It had paid a similar amount of taxes in 2021.

The company announced late last month the appointment of its new Russian chief executive, Sergei Nerchuev. The latter combines the job with management of a diamond mining company in northern Russia. It is not yet clear whether Nerchuev’s appointment is connected with the impending sale of the VTB stake.

Armenia’s largest metallurgical enterprise, the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) is mostly owned by entities linked to Russian billionaire Roman Trotsenko. The company employing some 4,600 people paid over 52 billion drams ($139 million) in taxes in 2025.

Pashinian Won’t Condemn Destruction Of Karabakh Armenian Cathedral

April 23, 2026

Nagorno-Karabakh – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian (C), Karabakh President Bako Sahakian (R) and Archbishop Pargev Martirosian leave the newly built Holy Mother of God Cathedral in Stepanakert, May 9, 2019.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian on Thursday pointedly declined to condemn Azerbaijan for its apparent destruction of Nagorno-Karabakh’s biggest Armenian church.

Pashinian also made clear that Armenia’s government will not seek international condemnation of the demolition of the Holy Mother of God Cathedral in Stepanakert which was confirmed on Wednesday by satellite images obtained by RFE/RL.

“We need to be careful about these topics, especially now, because such topics are a double-edged sword,” he told reporters. “As the New Testament says, you will be judged with the same judgment you judge, and you will be measured with the same measure you measure.”

“We will look, we will analyze. I do not think that, given our previous experience, we will make this a subject of international discussions at the state level,” he said.

The remarks are consistent with Yerevan’s failure to officially react to the demolition which was first reported by exiled Karabakh Armenian activists on Tuesday. Some of them accused Pashinian’s government complicity in Baku’s continuing elimination of traces of centuries-long Armenian presence in Karabakh.

The Armenian government essentially stopped accusing Azerbaijan of systematically desecrating or destroying Armenian monuments in Karabakh after Pashinian first recognized Azerbaijani sovereignty over the territory in 2022. Pashinian has repeatedly declared in recent years that the Karabakh issue is closed for his administration. His detractors say the destruction of the Stepanakert cathedral makes mockery of his regular claims that “peace has been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan.”

The Armenian Apostolic Church made a similar point when it strongly condemned its demolition later on Thursday.

“It is obvious that the Azerbaijani government continues to target Armenian Christian holy sites with the aim of erasing the Armenian trace from Artsakh,” it said in a statement. “This state-level vandalism once again proves that Azerbaijan’s anti-Armenian policy has not changed, which makes statements about establishing a stable and lasting peace with Armenia questionable.”

The church said Pashinian and his government must take “urgent and effective steps” to try to stop Baku from wiping out Karabakh’s remaining Armenian cultural and spiritual heritage. It urged the international community to also help to “stop the cultural crimes in Artsakh.”

The imposing cathedral was consecrated by the Armenian Apostolic Church in 2019 after almost 13 years of construction. Its underground section was used by many Stepanakert residents as a bomb shelter during the 2020 Armenian-Azerbaijani war.

Several other Karabakh Armenian churches have also reportedly been destroyed since the 2020 Armenian-Azerbaijan war. The process appears to have accelerated following Azerbaijan’s full recapture of Karabakh in 2023.

Catholicos Garegin II, the church’s supreme head, decried it during a conference hosted by the World Council of Churches (WCC) in Switzerland last May. Pashinian launched his controversial campaign to oust Garegin shortly after that conference.

RFE/RL – Armenian Bank Accused Of Illegally Funding Pashinian’s Election Campa

April 23, 2026

Armenia – Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian performs during a pre-election concert in Gyumri, April 19, 2026.

A coalition of Armenian vote-monitoring groups claimed on Thursday that a commercial bank owned by government-linked businessmen is sponsoring pre-election concerts for the ruling Civil Contract party in breach of Armenia’s campaign funding rules.

Fast Bank financed the first such open-air concert in Gyumri on April 19 as part of what organizers call the Voice of Peace Music Festival. It featured live performances by professional musicians as well as Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian’s self-styled pop band.

The stage in Gyumri’s central square was decorated with banners bearing slogans similar to Civil Contract’s motto for the June 7 parliamentary elections. Pashinian and his political allies wore baseball caps with the ruling party’s campaign logo emblazoned on them.

They have urged supporters to attend the next concert that will take place in Yerevan’s Republic Square on Saturday. They said it will be dedicated to Armenia’s Citizen Day marking the anniversary of the 2018 “velvet revolution” that brought Pashinian to power. However, a company organizing the concerts, Domino Production, denied on Thursday any connection between the upcoming show, also sponsored by Fast Bank, and the public holiday.

“We regard the April 19 concert in Gyumri and the April 25 concert planned in Yerevan as Civil Contract’s campaign event in a certain sense,” said Daniel Ioannisian, the coordinator of the Independent Observer coalition.

Ioannisian insisted that the Fast Bank funding for the concerts amounts to election campaign donations to Pashinian’s party. He said it violates an Armenian law that bans businesses or any other legal entities from financing political parties.

Armenians are allowed to do that only in their individual capacity. The maximum amount of annual donations made by a single person is capped at 10 million drams ($26,000). A violation of these requirements is a crime punishable by heavy fines and up to two months in prison.

Fast Bank did not comment on its financing of the concerts. The bank is owned by businessman Vigen Badalian and his brother Vahe. They are widely regarded as figures close to Pashinian’s political team. Vigen Badalian is a friend of parliament speaker Alen Simonian.

Civil Contract was already accused by two Armenian media outlets in 2024 of illegally financing its election campaigns. In separate journalistic investigations, they suggested that the ruling party resorted to financial machinations to circumvent the legal cap on political donations. Pashinian denied any wrongdoing.

Serzh Sargsyan summarized the 8 years of the “velvet revolution”.

Serzh Sargsyan’s statement on the eighth anniversary of his resignation.

Dear people,

I am addressing you not as a politician, but as an Armenian, as a person whose life and destiny are inseparable from this land and water, this country. Our party has already announced its decision not to participate in the upcoming elections. This is not just a political position, but a unified, considered and argued decision, a historical decision.

In the spring of 2018, when my team and I left, we did so in compliance with your will. Eight years ago, in my resignation statement, I wrote a sentence that, due to the editing of one of the beneficiaries of the text and the subsequent manipulation of my “great” friends, they tried to make a stigma for me.

I have made right and wrong decisions throughout my life. My most correct and difficult decision was “breaking my own promise” and 2018. was to be nominated for the post of prime minister.

Unfortunately, it was also my biggest mistake, because I failed to explain to our people that the purpose of my nomination was not to keep the power, but to ensure the security of Karabakh and Armenia. Yes, Nicole was right, she was ready to go all the way and had no red line, I shouldn’t have run. And I made a mistake, thinking that we will be able to explain to our people that my departure in a difficult negotiation situation will lead to a disaster. It was obvious to me that changing the negotiator at that stage of the negotiations, nullifying the history of the negotiations will have a tragic consequence. something that happened. Not that I was the best negotiator, but that I deeply knew all the parties participating in the negotiations, had institutional memory and knew the value of Karabakh and the victory as a member of the team that created that victory and then kept it.

Yes, Nikol was right: I could not explain, but he managed to deceive our people.

2018 As a result of running for prime minister, I lost a lot, from not being understood to being rejected by my people as a result, but years later, I can say for sure that I would go through that purgatory again because I was sure that we would avoid any disaster that way.

I could not explain to the people because the people did not want to listen. I was “wrong” to be right.

In 2018, I was nominated to guarantee the security of Armenia and Artsakh, so that there would be no bloodshed at the borders, then I resigned in order to prevent bloodshed within the borders. And today, eight years after my resignation, a strong part of the people believes that Nikol’s power exists as long as the “formers” are in the first line of the political struggle against him.

I submit to this demand of the people as well. if the participation of me and the Republican party will contribute even one percent to the reproduction of today’s administration, we are taking a step back in order to give people the opportunity to express their will soberly, without emotions, and for the other opposition forces to make their promise of a change of power a reality without hindrance.

I started my career with the formation of the self-defense forces of Artsakh and considered it the greatest honor of my life to be a participant in the creation of the victory of our people and to preserve that victory. During its administration, the Republican Party has done everything for the sake of safe Armenia and Armenian Artsakh, to preserve and cherish the greatest victory of the Armenian people in the last hundred years. Of course, there have been mistakes and disappointments, but, in my deep conviction, those mistakes are forgivable and recoverable, and the proof of this is that today we go out among our people with an open front and a clear conscience.

It is no secret that the Republican Party did not want to participate in the 2021 elections, but we had to take that step. Unlike the unequivocal victory preached by the opposition, sociology suggested something else. We took part in those elections in order to try to prevent the final betrayal and surrender of Artsakh. It was obvious that the impostor who signed the capitulation with the lie that “we will win” for 44 days, who promised the de-occupation of Artsakh in the 2021 campaign, would actually surrender Artsakh behind the people and leave Artsakh Armenians alone against the enemy, as a result opening the gates of Armenia to the enemy.

Months ago, the Republican Party proposed the impeachment bill as the only realistic way to get rid of these authorities. It was clear to us that they and their foreign sponsors have already started falsifying the elections, imprisoning dissidents, distributing election bribes from the budget at the expense of doubling the state debt, and turning a blind eye to the growing illegalities.

In our opinion, fair and competitive elections were impossible under these conditions. However, unfortunately, our parliamentary colleagues chose a different path, waiting for the elections. I wish them success in justifying that decision.

I am convinced that in order to ensure the victory of the opposition in this situation, a large unification is necessary to prevent the dusting of votes, which will serve the interests of the current administration. The Republican party will continue to maintain its weighty role as an extra-parliamentary force for the sake of historical memory, dignity and the Armenian dream.

The group that uprooted Armenia, brought it to its knees, buried it in debt and flooded it with lies must leave. The alternative is terrible – horror for our country, our people and the next generation. It’s terrible for them, they just don’t realize it yet. It is necessary to wake up so that it is not too late.

Dignified peace, logic and harmony to our country and people.
