The Lausanne-based Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has fully dismissed the lawsuit filed by FC Lokomotiv Yerevan and the Kananyans against the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA).

According to a press release issued by the FFA, FC Lokomotiv Yerevan had demanded €2,012,229 from the FFA as compensation for alleged direct damages, as well as €1,445,000 for alleged lost profits. In addition, the Kananyans sought €1,400,000 in compensation for alleged moral damages.

The cases are related to the match-fixing scandal. On July 3, 2020, during an extraordinary meeting of the FFA Executive Committee, five clubs — Aragats, Torpedo, Masis, Lokomotiv, and Yerevan — along with 58 individuals were banned due to match-fixing.

Acting in accordance with its statutory and disciplinary obligations, the FFA conducted the relevant proceedings and imposed disciplinary sanctions. On June 28, 2022, the 22nd Regular Congress of the FFA decided to terminate FC Lokomotiv Yerevan’s membership in the federation. CAS confirmed that the Football Federation of Armenia had acted lawfully in terminating the club’s membership.

The latest ruling also fully rejected all compensation claims.

“The Football Federation of Armenia reaffirmed its firm commitment to combating match-fixing and all forms of misconduct in sport. The federation will continue to do everything possible to prevent such incidents and hold those responsible accountable within the scope of its authority,” the FFA said.

Russia’s phytosanitary watchdog, Rosselkhoznadzor, has announced temporary restrictions effective May 30 on imports of several fruits and vegetables from Armenia.

The agency said that the ban applies to tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, greens, and strawberries.

Rosselkhoznadzor said the decision was made due to the “increasing frequency of violations” during supplies of fruit and vegetable products from Armenia, as well as in order to “ensure phytosanitary safety.”

Between May 21–27, 2026, the agency conducted inspections at Armenian businesses.

According to Rosselkhoznadzor’s information system, large volumes of fruit and vegetable products are supplied by numerous Armenian companies whose ownership structure, according to the Russian side, is unknown, and which allegedly avoid quarantine phytosanitary control.

Verelq: May 28 was first of all a victory of the spirit. Serzh Sargsyan

The third President of RA, Serzh Sargsyan, sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Republic Day, in which it is said:

“Dear compatriots,

I congratulate you on the Republic Day.

More than a century ago, May 28 became for our people not only a day of restoration of statehood, but also a day of value testing. The national consciousness, the will to live freely and with dignity did not allow adaptation, fear, weakness, division and all those diseases that instill hopelessness and defeat in the nation to rise up.

First of all, May 28 was a victory of the spirit, which proved a simple truth: strength is not measured only by the number of soldiers and weapons. To live in fear under the yoke of a foreigner is worse than to die, to live without a nation, to live without a country is a disgrace, and to live freely and with dignity in one’s homeland is a vital necessity. This is the deep meaning of the hard but decisive victories of Sardarapati, Bash-Aparan and Gharakilisa battles.

Eternal glory to those who restored independent Armenian statehood, from the military to construction workers, intellectuals and clergy.

Glory and honor to the national-state figures who personally established the First Republic.

Dear compatriots,

Today, we are once again standing at a difficult historical moment, when the capitulating authorities associated with the defeat in the war and the failure of the state administration, in the Republic Square, wasting huge state resources, cynically stage a military parade of the unresolved consequences of the war, thousands of victims, territorial losses, some occupied territories bordering the RA, thousands of displaced Artsakh citizens, prisoners suffering in Baku prisons, the missing and the vulnerable. in the conditions of the existence of the state border. This is an immoral political ploy to cover up the disastrous consequences of the war, the current deplorable state of the army, to forget the responsibility for it before the upcoming elections, and to provide scenes of self-promotion at the expense of state funds. In the background of all this, it is pointless to even talk about the content of that show.

The army is not a pre-election decoration, but the birth of our nation, the pride, the worthy child, but today, unfortunately, the abandoned child.

The upcoming elections are also an opportunity to change this situation. And I again call on our citizens to unite around one goal: on June 7, to say no to the force that has become a symbol of defeat, despair and degradation of national values, along with its satellites, to begin the restoration of the army, the strengthening of statehood and the positions of the Armenian National Church.

Only in this way will our people prove that they deserve the military parade of a state with a victorious army.”

They will keep quiet because it’s Trump, not Putin

US President Trump posted on his social network page that Nikol Pashinyan has his unconditional and full support before the June 7 election. “Let’s make Armenia great again” is Trump’s rewording of his famous so-called MAGA, “Let’s make America great again” slogan.

This is, of course, another example of interference in the internal affairs of Armenia, about which the government and pro-Western propagandists will certainly be silent, because the one who announced it is not Putin, but Trump.

However, the US president’s record is relative to say the least. He made the post after Rubio’s visit to the airport. Either to convey to Yerevan that Trump’s support is very much needed, or during Rubio’s visit, Yerevan made such a promise, in return for which Trump made his note.

Simply, taking into account that today MAGA is in an obvious crisis and has been destroyed in the USA, under the Trump administration, and after the unsuccessful war against Iran, perhaps one should approach with great reservations if Trump talks about “making Armenia great”.

The congratulatory message of the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on the Republic Day

H.E. Congratulatory message of Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on the occasion of the Republic Day.

“From the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, we send our blessing and congratulations to all our people in our homeland and in the diaspora on the occasion of the Republic Day.

Marking the foundation of the first Republic of Armenia, we remember the heroic battles of Sardarapat, Gharakilisa and Bash Aparan. Gevorg the Fifth Catholicos of All Armenians played a crucial role in those historical struggles. In the life-and-death struggle, the brave children of our people, including the clergy of our Holy Church, won the victory and ensured for generations the right to live independently and freely in their native land. With the same noble spirit, the devoted children of our nation selflessly defended their homeland in recent times, many sacrificed their priceless lives for the steadfastness of our statehood and a safe and dignified future. Today, we nationally bow our heads before our heroes and keep their bright memory in our hearts forever.

In the current difficult times, to face the external and internal challenges, we must unite and together strengthen our state, make the life of all Armenians prosperous and prosperous.

May the Most High Lord abundantly bless and keep our country and our Christ-loving people in Armenia and the Diaspora today and always. every.”

The course of our statehood is in doubt, our identity is under attack.

Dear compatriots, May 28, 1918 is the turning point in Armenian history. It was on May 28 that the people, who had escaped the genocide, replaced the death sentence with the creation of statehood.

In Sardarapat, Bash Aparan and Gharakilisa, we proved that there is no such weapon in the world that can defeat the will to live in one’s own land. Faithful to its mission, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation undertook the superhuman mission of state building under the most difficult conditions. In a country full of orphans and refugees, in the midst of famine and wars, the founding generation of the Republic, Aram Manukyan, Hovhannes Kajaznuni, Garegin Nzhdeh, Dron, Ruben Ter-Minasyan and other devotees, did the seemingly impossible and broke the destiny of our people.

Today we are again at a fateful stop. The course of our statehood is in doubt, our identity is under attack, our church is persecuted, our people are emigrants, Armenian Artsakh is lost.

But we know that the spirit of the heroic battles of May is still alive among the Armenian people, that our generations know themselves from Sardarapat.

Therefore, it is time to sober up, unite and stand up for our values with national resistance. This is a struggle for identity and statehood, this is a new Sardarapat. We will stand up for independent Armenian statehood, we will restore our national dignity and we will not allow the fate of Armenians to be written at the behest of a foreigner.

We are, we will fight and we will win. Happy May 28.

One of the important axes of the parade-report is the weapons produced in Armenia

During the military parade organized on the occasion of the Republic Day, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a speech, summarizing the results recorded since 2022 in the direction of army building, acquisition of weapons and provision of social guarantees for servicemen.

“Today we present to you the new army of the Republic of Armenia with new weapons, new uniforms and new ideology. The core of that ideology is as follows. The only task of the army is the protection of the internationally recognized sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, and our army should not be deployed outside the internationally recognized territories of Armenia, except for peacekeeping missions based on international agreements.”

Referring to the process of acquiring weapons, the Prime Minister reminded that before 2022, international markets for weapons and military equipment were mostly closed or difficult to access for RA, as international partners refused to supply weapons, fearing that they would be used outside internationally recognized territories.

“Only after the agreement reached in Prague on October 6, 2022, when Armenia and Azerbaijan recognized each other’s territorial integrity on the basis of the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration, the international arms market was opened for Armenia only after this agreement. Armaments and military equipment produced by around 7 countries will be paraded in today’s military parade-report.

One of the important axes of the parade-report is the weapons and military equipment produced in RA, which today are taking the first but confident steps to occupy a stable position in the international market,” Pashinyan emphasized, adding that starting from 2022, the government has invested about 170 billion drams in the local military-industrial complex.
