The police of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Artsakh reports that Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire regime also in Askeran region, ARMENPRESS reports it is mentioned that at 17:00 a message was received at Askeran regional department that the armed forces of Azerbaijan fired for about 15 minutes from different types of firearms at 4 civilians performing agricultural works at a pomegranate orchard in the territory of Nakhijevanik village and didn't allow them to leave the orchard.

The fire stopped with the mediation of Russian peacekeepers and the citizens of Artsakh were evacuated without injury. The agricultural equipment was partially damaged.

On January 10, Azerbaijan opened fire also at the direction of Karmir Shuka community, an UAZ vehicle was burned near the kindergarten.

Jake Sullivan and Ibrahim Kalin discussed issues of political and economic relations, development of defense cooperation, as well as exchanged views on global and regional issues: the crisis in Ukraine, the protests in Kazakhstan, the process of normalization of relations with Armenia, the developments in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ethiopia.

YEREVAN, 10 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan on January 10 had a phone call with Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau. Ararat Mirzoyan congratulated his counterpart on the occasion of assuming the OSCE Chairmanship, assuring that Armenia will support as much as possible to the preservation of peace and stability in the OSCE responsibility zone.

As ARMENPRESS was informed from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan and Zbigniew Rau discussed the situation in Kazakhstan. Minister Mirzoyan presented the position of the Armenian side on this issue reflected in the announcement of January 6 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

The Armenian FM mentioned that according to the official application of Kazakhstan based on the treaty of Collective Security, Charter of the Organization, as well as on the Agreement of Peacekeeping activity the CSTO Collective Security Council made a decision to send peacekeepers with a limited period to Kazakhstan for the protection of strategic objects.

Referring to the regional security issues the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia emphasized the importance of peaceful resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict under the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group. In this context Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the support of Poland as the chair of the OSCE to the efforts of the Minsk Group Co-chairs aimed at the comprehensive and lasting settlement of the conflict on the basis of prominent principles and elements.

The interlocutors made a reference also to the solution of urgent humanitarian issues, in particular the work done aimed at the return of Armenian prisoners of war and other detainees.

FlyOne Armenia and Pegasus Airlines get permission to operate Yerevan-Istanbul-Yerevan flights

YEREVAN, JANUARY 10, ARMENPRESS. FlyOne Armenia and Pegasus Airlines have received permission from the Civil Aviation Committee to operate Yerevan-Istanbul-Yerevan charter flights, ARMENPRESS was informed from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.

Earlier, the Armenian aviation authorities issued a permit to FlyOne Armenia airline to operate charter flights in the Yerevan-Istanbul-Yerevan route. FlyOne Armenia had applied to the aviation authorities of both Armenia and Turkey with the request to operate charter roundtrip flights from Yerevan to Istanbul.

Asked when the flights will be launched, Flyone Armenia President of the Board Aram Ananyan said they are awaiting the permit from the Turkish aviation authorities.

On December 16, the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Ankara is considering bids from both Turkish and Armenian airlines for operating flights between Istanbul and Yerevan. Then, the Turkish authorities said that the Turkish Pegasus airline will operate the flights.

YEREVAN, JANUARY 10, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijanis threw stones at an Armenian driver's car on the Stepanakert-Goris highway in the Shushi section, ARMENPRESS reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Artsakh Republic informed.

It is mentioned that on January 10, in the Kashatagh regional police department received a report from a resident of Vanadzor, V. P. (born in 1991) that he had been provoked by Azerbaijanis on the Stepanakert-Yerevan highway near Shushi while driving his "Nissan Teana" car. The Azerbaijanis hit the car with stones, as a result of which the front part of the car was damaged.

Police are conducting investigation into the incident.

Armenia to require vaccine proof for restaurants, museums, libraries

PanARMENIAN.Net - Beginning January 22, anyone aged 18 and older will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative test result to dine in cafes and restaurants or visit entertainment and cultural venues in Armenia.

According to fresh regulations published by the Ministry of Health, employees at such venues will also need to either be vaccinated or wear a mask and show proof of negative Covid-19 tests.

The ban also applies to museums, movie theaters and libraries.

Children under the age of 18, pregnant women and people who have a contraindication to vaccination are exempt from the requirement.

Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar received Serdar Kilic, the special representative of Turkey for the normalization of relations with Armenia, the Turkish Defense Ministry informed.

The meeting took place on the eve of the talks between the special representatives of Turkey and Armenia, scheduled for January 14 in Moscow.

Former Turkish Ambassador to Washington Serdar Kilic was appointed as Special Representative for the normalization of relations with Armenia on December 15.

Armenia will be represented by Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan.

Farmers in Artsakh targeted by Azerbaijani forces

Four farmers were targeted by Azerbaijani forces when doing agricultural work in pomegranate orchard near Nakhichevanik village in Artsakh’s Asekran village, Artsakh Police informs.

Different types of firearms were used during the shooting the intensive shooting that lasted 15 minutes. The regional police department was alarmed about the incident at about 5 pm today.

The fire was stopped by the mediation of Russian peacekeepers, and the citizens of Artsakh were evacuated unharmed.

Agricultural machinery was partially damaged.

Earlier today the Azerbaijani side opened fire in the direction of the Karmir Shuka community, a vehicle caught fire near the kindergarten.
